Words In Rhythm

before dawn comes and after the day's last bell
these words in rhythm still cast a spell
how smooth the texture how rich the sound
that keeps these people coming 'round
the dreamers pause the dancers poise
when the poets spits their righteous noise
with snaps and claps and hoots and cheers
we celebrate laughter, shivers, tears
you might sip on wine or toke on the herb
but we all wake the sleeping and ease the disturbed
so if you're tormented or just hungry for love
come here to get softened if your edges are rough
it begins in the breath and it ends in the pulse
we all share in triumph so we all share in faults
then the evening is over closing time comes
everybody feels something when the poet is done
